TAT Introduces “SUKJAI NFT” to Draw South Korean Tourists

The Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT) has launched the ‘SUKJAI NFT by Amazing Thailand’ initiative, utilizing digital art assets to draw high-spending South Korean tourists to Thailand.

In accordance with TAT, 20,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring the TAT mascot “Nong Sukjai” are available on the South Korean market as part of the SUKJAI NFT by Amazing Thailand initiative. When traveling to Thailand, these pieces will provide outstanding benefits for travel goods and services. Over 60 Thai collaborators and entrepreneurs from Thailand’s most prominent tourist spots are involved in the initiative. Participants can register for the campaign through the TRAVELET app, which also facilitates planning visits to Thailand.

TAT indicated that the initiative seeks to interact with the South Korean digital asset consumer market and cultivate a fandom via NFT marketing to provide new tourism experiences and inspire individuals to travel to Thailand. The initiative is one of the outcomes of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TAT and SOOBAK, which intends to promote Thailand’s tourism goods and services through the advertisement of digital assets in line with Thailand’s goal of employing new technology and developing a ‘tourism ecosystem’ for further sustainable industry.

Right after the success of the Amazing Thailand NFT initiative in Thailand, which is presently in its 3rd season and showcases 55,000 NFT artworks shared throughout the kingdom’s five regions, the campaign also represents the expansion of TAT’s NFT marketing activities internationally.
