Samui Plus Have 11,000 Room Nights Reserved Until December

Samui Plus Sandbox

The Tourism Authority of Thailand reported that since the introduction of Samui Plus program on July 15 for fully vaccinated foreign tourists without the need for quarantine, the total number of arrivals to Koh Samui has increased to 786 making it a total of 9,823 booked room nights and generated 58.9M baht in revenue.

The majority of these arrivals are from Europe, with 136 arrivals from France, 119 from Germany and 105 from United Kingdom. USA, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, and Switzerland were among the other tourist arrivals.

Currently, Bangkok Airways’ 132 direct flights between Samui and Bangkok aided in facilitating the transport of tourists via the Samui Plus program.

Additionally, foreign tourists have been allowed to extend their vacation to Samui after a 7 night stay in Phuket since the introduction of the Phuket Sandbox 7+7 Extension program on August 16, 2021. Since September 20, 232 tourists extended their vacation through sealed route flights between Phuket and Samui, resulting in an extra 1,245 hotel nights and 7.46 million Baht in revenue.

Additionally, between July 15 and September 20, Samui welcomed 575 foreign tourists who have completed the mandatory 14 nights stay in Phuket as part of the Sandbox program.

Samui Plus has accumulated 11,062 room nights from 855 guests up to December 10. Also, the province has successfully booked 3,141 room stays from 490 guests under the 7+7 Extension Phuket Sandbox up to November 27.
