2 Thai Beaches Included In The World’s Beautiful Beaches List

Thailand continues to be recognized for its magnificent beaches. The UK newspaper Daily Star released a list of the “World’s 20 Most Beautiful Beaches” that includes 2 beaches in Thailand.  These are Sunrise Beach which is placed 6th spot, while Maya Bay came in at number 12 on the list. Both beaches are located in Southern Thailand.

Sunrise Beach also called “Maldives of Thailand” is famous for its white powdery sand and turquoise clear waters. While Maya Bay become popular when it was featured in  Leonardo DiCaprio’s film “The Beach”. Unfortunately, Maya Bay will be temporarily closed to tourists starting August 1 until September 30, 2022, for environmental rehabilitation.

Venice Beach in California tops the list, followed by Main Beach in Byron Bay, Australia. Venezuela, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka are a few other countries that are also included in the list.

The list, which was released on July 21, was compiled by analyzing Instagram post data and the amount of Google articles that include the word “beautiful.” This year, the number of searches for “what are the most beautiful beaches?” climbed by 220%.

PM Prayut Chan-o-cha said that the rankings show Thailand’s popularity to foreign tourists.  He asks tourism operators to be always ready to welcome tourists as part of the 2022 plan to stimulate the tourism industry.

PM Prayut shows support for tourism collaborations between different sectors and expands cooperation with other countries in order to bring in more tourists to Thailand.  He mentioned the upcoming Northeast India Festival which will be held in Central World Bangkok on the 30 and 31 of July.

Thaiger’s visit to Maya Bay is seen in the following video. The video was filmed during its famous three-year shutdown from 2018 to January 2022. The footage depicts the extremely pure water of Maya Bay and the beautiful mountains that surround the beach.
