While tourism in Thailand is still far from recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the peak season has begun with foreign flights to Thailand increasing by 24%.

Airports of Thailand said that 9,483 of the flights arranged in landing slots into Thailand originated from overseas locations, a 24% increase in comparison to last month’s data.  As per the report, a total of 17,132 flights would arrive at Thailand’s airports from November to December.

More flights will likely be booked for this month, raising the total to even greater levels. The increase in incoming flights suggests that an increasing number of foreign visitors are opting to visit Thailand during the busy season after Thailand eased travel restrictions, Thailand Pass, and Test & Go system.

The Airports of Thailand manages airports around the country, including Suvarnabhumi Airport, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, and Don Mueang Airport. Thailand’s reopening on November 1, the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airport in Bangkok, and the Phuket airport welcomed most of the arrivals.

The Department of Disease Control reported that since November 1, 186,938 foreign travelers have entered the country.  Most of the foreign arrivals are from the United States followed by Germany.
