TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn is not worried about the first case of Omicron variant in the country and announces New Year countdown events are scheduled in 5 provinces.

In reply to the news of Thailand’s first Omicron case, Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the discovery of the first Omicron case in the country had no effect on the tourism industry because of the government’s efficient disease control and screening methods.

“There would be no direct negative effect and the Tourism Authority of Thailand will continue to host New Year countdown celebrations in Ayutthaya, Chonburi (Pattaya), Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, and  Phuket as planned” Mr. Yuthasak announced.

TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn added that there are around 6,000 arrivals daily in Thailand and he predicts at least 200,000 visitors before the year ends.
