Another effort to entice tourists back to the popular island province of Phuket is the end-month seafood festival with live music, which local tourism authorities believe will add “color” to the island’s attractions and activities. The Phuket tourism bureau will organize an event early next month with the goal of improving tourist confidence by disclosing information about hotel and tour operators’ health and safety requirements.

The “Amazing Thai Taste Festival” will take place on Patong Beach from November 26 to 28. Montree Manatao, deputy director of Thailand’s Phuket Tourism Authority, said the festival would promote Thai seafood cuisines from each province around the Andaman Sea. Montree noted that although the event’s details have not yet been finalized, tourists will expect live stage performances.

The local tourism office will host its “Tour Thailand with Confidence with SHA” event in Phuket Town from December 3 to 5. Montree said that this event is arranged to gather tourist operators and discuss strategies for securely reviving the country’s tourism industry.  A “SHA Pavilion Zone” will be placed where visitors may learn standards set by the Safety and Health Administration. He added that there would be a “plan it yourself” program that will allow operators to build their own itineraries.

These events are being staged to commemorate Thailand’s reopening and to promote the country’s tourism industry as Thailand starts its long road back to normal.

“These are vibrant festivals and celebrations because the Tourism Authority of Thailand wants to spread happiness by organizing activities that contribute to the economy’s continued growth until year-end.”
