The Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Yuthasak Supasorn said that 2.12 million tourists visited Thailand from January to June. Additional 7.5 million tourists are expected to visit the Kingdom from July to December this year.

As of today, Thailand already welcomed more than 4 million tourists.

According to the governor, the TAT expects at least 9.62 million tourists this year and is confident that the numbers could surpass 10 million.

Combined with a projected 160 million from local tourism, he calculated that the overall income from tourism revenue will reach 1.2 trillion baht.

He added that the tourism sector of the country will return to pre-pandemic numbers by 2024.

Currently, TAT collaborates with private firms to stimulate economic growth and promote tourism in the country.  Last week, TAT launched “The Great Collaboration for Thailand’s Tourism Ecosystem” campaign with Central Pattana, the country’s premier investment and retail property development company.

Central Pattana’s VP for Marketing, Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana said that major cities in Thailand have a nearly 100% increase in tourist traffic.

He has the same sentiments as TAT that the overall number of foreign tourists visiting Thailand this year will surpass 10 million.
