Uncover Thailand A Creative Guide

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined forces with the streaming giant, Netflix, to produce an innovative travel guide, Uncover Thailand: A Creative Travel Guide. Designed to offer a fresh perspective on Thailand’s stunning locations that have been featured in various films and shows on Netflix, the interactive guide will help tourists discover the best of what the country has to offer.

In addition to travel advice, the guide also provides fascinating facts that are guaranteed to enhance the experiences of visitors. According to TNN National, the guide is expected to attract quality tourists with a keen interest in films and television series, adding value and inspiration to each destination.

The collaboration between the TAT and Netflix is part of a broader campaign to promote Thailand’s tourism, titled Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters, which aims to attract high-quality tourists and showcase Thai culture and heritage on the global stage.

In an innovative approach to highlight Thailand’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, the travel guide showcases popular locations from films and shows to attract visitors with an interest in experiencing the places they have seen on screen. Furthermore, the guide provides recommendations for unique experiences in the surrounding areas, enabling visitors to savor the Kingdom’s natural wonders, culinary delights, rich culture, and diverse heritage.

Uncover Thailand is not the only recent innovation promoting Thai culture and famous sites. Recently, researchers unveiled the Cultural Map of Thailand, featuring over 2,000 cultural sites from across the country. The cultural details are categorized into 11 archetypes, such as artifacts, architecture, historical sites, cultural spaces, languages, and more.

Kitti Sajjawattana, director of the Area Development Fund Management and Fund Management Unit (Dasta), confirms that the Cultural Map of Thailand is part of a research project that will ultimately evolve into a Cultural Atlas of Thailand and Cultural Metaverse Thailand. This exciting development promises to be a boon for cultural enthusiasts and tourists alike.
