Thailand has experienced a noteworthy 15% increase in tourist arrivals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first quarter of 2023, building on a previous 30% boost in total visitors in 2022. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) considers the UAE a vital market for its tourism development plans.

To cater to this growing interest, TAT is partnering with dnata Travel, the UAE’s premier travel agency, to bring the most remarkable Thai travel experiences closer to UAE tourists. The collaboration aims to promote Thailand’s diverse attractions and landscapes, with a focus on areas that particularly appeal to UAE visitors.

Capitalizing on extensive partnerships across Thailand, the two organizations have introduced a selection of UAE-specific vacation packages designed to secure the best rates and exclusive benefits. These packages encompass a variety of experiences, from luxurious stays to adventure-filled excursions.

Chaiwat Tamthai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand – Dubai and Middle East, highlighted the importance of the UAE market, stating, “With an increasing number of tourists eager to experience new and unique experiences all over Thailand, dnata Travel is well-equipped to assist UAE travelers in planning unforgettable journeys throughout the country.”

The significant increase in UAE tourism can be attributed to several factors, including an expansion in Thailand’s attractions and activities. Multiple airlines now offer direct flights and new routes, such as to Krabi and Pattaya, making travel between the two countries more convenient. TAT and dnata Travel are focusing on showcasing Thailand’s diverse and affordable tourism offerings while enhancing the accessibility of travel through attractive travel packages, flight options, and travel insurance.

Meerah Ketait, Head of Retail and Leisure UAE at dnata Travel, emphasized the popularity of Thailand among UAE tourists due to its stunning beaches, rich cultural heritage, delectable cuisine, and affordable prices. She added that destinations like Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Samui continue to draw UAE travelers seeking relaxation and excitement.

For those considering an extended stay or seeking premium services, the Thailand Elite Visa offers a range of long-term stay options and exclusive benefits, providing an ideal solution for discerning travelers.
