Thailand has launched a health tourism campaign called “Discover the New You” to bolster its economy. The Thai government, along with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and over 130 participating entities from the wellness industry, collaborate to attract international tourists and generate over 18 million baht ($511,000) by September of this year.

Anucha Burapachaisri, the Government Spokesperson, announced the campaign’s wide-ranging cooperation to foster health-conscious and sustainable tourism. Thailand’s Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, echoes Anucha’s sentiments, expressing confidence in the initiative’s potential to draw tourists and bolster the economy.

As per the Bangkok Post, the campaign complements the broader project “Amazing Thailand Health and Wellness New Chapters New Experience,” which spotlights products tailored to suit wellness-seeking travelers.

Clearing the path for businesses and social media influencers to join in, the TAT has linked up with media networks that align with the campaign’s goals. These partnerships aim to highlight 15 health tourism routes.

The strategy leverages Thailand’s reputation in health and wellness products and services. The government anticipates this will fuel the economy by enticing tourist spending, exceeding the initial goal of 18 million baht by this September.
