Published: May 31, 2023 at 8:00 pm
Visakha Bucha Day, which is celebrated on June 3, 2023, is one of the most significant Buddhist holidays. Visakha Bucha Day is one of the several events and festivals held throughout Thailand during the month of June 2023, such as the Bun Luang and Phi Ta Khon Festival 2023 in Loei, the Amazing Thailand Grande Sale 2023 in six locations across the country, and multiple marathons and half-marathons.
Visakha Bucha Day Visakha Bucha Day occurs annually on the full moon of the sixth lunar month to commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and death of Lord Buddha. On this particular day, Buddhists will visit the temple to worship and commemorate the teachings and social and spiritual values of Buddha, as well as to engage in merit-making and candlelight rituals. This entails an evening Wien Tien illuminated procession in which Buddhist devotees carry lit candles and walk around a temple three times, symbolizing the Buddha, his teachings, and monkhood, respectively.
